The final application & solution

Our client sees their welding products used in a wide range of applications from pipe laying to ship building. We were able to create a motor for our customers that could not only cope with the demands involved with welding but also exceed expectations.

MIG (metal inert gas) welding works by a steel alloy wire being fed through a welding gun to where it combines with the workpiece metals to join or melt. Our client uses our 332 gearbox and a DC motor to feed the wire through portable and light-duty welders while ensuring they can maintain their compact design. The added bonus in the event the wire gets blocked within the welder then our DC Gearmotor will be able to continue working correctly after the blockage is removed.

Our range of Gearmotors is ideal for a vast range of applications including within welding products. The Type 332 gearbox and the chosen DC motor are both able to operate in temperatures of up to 80ºC making it the ideal choice for our client.
